We're happy to share: control over the OCEAN token contract will be revoked soon.
Remaining OCEAN will be minted, to vest to community over decades.
OCEAN will be fully decentralized and unpausable.

From the day we first launched, Ocean's mission has been to level the playing field around data & AI.
For that, we need to get fully decentralized.
This is another step towards that journey.
In 2019, 613M (43.5%) OCEAN was minted with the majority distributed to token acquirors, Ocean community via grants and Ocean Protocol Fd'n for admin&ops.
56.5% remained. As of May 2023, it will be minted for community.
The unminted 56.5% (797M OCEAN) OCEAN will be minted for community incentives programs.
Data Farming is big kahuna here. It's now stable enough to be ready for its budgeted OCEAN, which vests over decades.
Ocean Data Farming incentivizes for data consume volume, with an element of staking that in turn helps data curation
It hit its final phase -- DF Main -- a couple months back. This post👇 has details.
